The Golden Detour - a culinary and cultural experience

Are you going to drive the E6 through northern Trøndelag? Then you should take time to the Golden Detour on Inderøy. Along the route you will find farm shops, historical monuments, art galleries and museums, a sculpture park, a dairy, a cheese factory, a brewery and more. Along the coast you also get an incredibly nice drive - which only takes 10 minutes more than the original route between Røra and Vist. You are welcome to stop for swimming, shopping or a delicious snack. Look for the sign "The Golden Detour" and discover the cultural landscape!

Ten on the Top - a range of hiking suggestions!

Do you want to go on a hike that offers some views? Many towns in Trøndelag are part of the Ten on the Top initiative. Do a quick Google search for Ti på Topp in Trondheim, Stjørdal, Verdal, Steinkjer or Namsos to find a number of nice hiking peaks, from small to large. Get up close to the predators in Namsskogan Family Park

Namsskogan Family Park has Norway's largest collection of Nordic animals. The park is open year-round, and is extra cozy with fire pits and lavo in winter. Discover wolves, bears, wolverines, moose in the park located along the E6 at Trones. Nearby there are various campsites, including Brekkvasselv Camping (limited opening hours in the coldest winter months).

There are good opportunities to go fishing or see white-tailed eagles even in winter!
