Bjørnekleiva Hytteutleie og Gård

We are currently closed for the winter until June 15, 2027. Bjørnekleiva Hytteutleie is located between Åndalsnes and Dombås in peaceful surroundings, amidst wild and beautiful nature. It is the perfect starting point for hiking in the mountains and forests. The cabins are situated in their own courtyard and consist of 2 cabins and a building with sanitary facilities in one part and a kitchen in the other. The cabins are approximately 20 sqm and feature a kitchenette, sofa, bunk beds, and dining areas both inside the cabin and out on the veranda. Each cabin has its own private bathroom in the sanitary building. The cabins do not have running water inside. Dogs and cats are welcome, and we also have horses that can graze in our field. There is a great sense of peace in sitting out on the veranda, looking out over the mountains, the sky, and the nature around us, while listening to the roar of the Kleivfossene waterfalls. There is sun until 11 PM at midsummer, and it is lovely to watch the sunset from the cabins. The cabin courtyard is located right next to the farmyard, where we have 3 goats, 2 miniature pigs, 2 rabbits, 5 ducks, 9 chickens, 3 cats, and a dog that you can meet. You are also welcome to go inside the fence to greet the animals, feed them, and learn more about them. And perhaps you will find some eggs too? The animals graze below the barn, where there are also tables where you can enjoy a meal. On each side of the valley are two large mountain areas. Here you will find varied hikes ranging from waterfall walks, forest treks, and visits to old mountain pastures, to hikes in both low and high mountains. There is something for everyone. The area has a number of activities nearby. Short walks around the farm are great to do after a day of driving to stretch your legs. Feel free to ask your hosts to hear more about the cultural history – they are always happy to have a chat. The area features old roads passing the farm, blasting caves from World War II, potholes, swimming holes, waterfalls, and wild rapids. Children should have a good time here, and we lend out board games and Lego. In the cabins, there are comic books, and we have outdoor toys. Åndalsnes is about 35 minutes away by car and has famous attractions such as Trollstigen, Romsdalseggen, and Rampestreken. Or would you like to take the gondola up the mountain and see the fantastic view over the mountains and fjords? The Norwegian Mountaineering Centre (Norsk Tindesenter) has several activities and, of course, several restaurants, eateries, and shopping opportunities. Other nearby activities include the Høyt og Lavt climbing park at Bjorli, where there is also a grocery store and other small shops. You can go canoeing on Lesjaskogsvatnet, visit the Lesja Rural Museum, and just 5 minutes away we have the Sagelva Hydroelectric Power Station, which shows 300 years of hydropower history. At Verma, you will find Ville Verma, a high-ropes park; there are fishing opportunities in the Rauma river, and a small village shop with an exciting selection of hand-knitted items and ceramics – and not least the delicious and tasty Vermalefsa. Ålesund, Molde, Oppdal, Lom, and Eikesdalen are 2 hours away. Geiranger and Hunderfossen are 3 hours away. With Bjørnekleiva as your base, you can explore a large area.
