Sjøbakken Fjord Camping

Welcome to Sjøbakken Fjord Camping, the campsite among the 50 Mountains. Great starting point for mountain hikes, kayaking on the fjord and children's activities. To name a few of what the village has to offer: heated outdoor swimming pool, visitor farms, climbing park, small warm beach and Frisbee Golf courses. In the 2026 season we will have seasonal places. We have 3 seasonal places for trailers. Please contact us if you are interested. An unloading station is also available. Sjøbakken Fjord Camping is located in the middle of the Sunnmøre Alps, so mountain hikes that are suitable for both experienced mountaineers and those who are less experienced are available right at the campsite. You will find us about 1.5 kilometers south of the center in Sykkylven municipality. We have good communications with, among other things, a night ferry to Ålesund. Free ferry between Hundeidvik-Festøy if you want to go south on an excursion. At the same time, a day trip to the famous natural gem Geiranger, Trollstigen and the unique Atlantic Park in Ålesund are good starting points for day trips. In Hundeidvik, 15 minutes from the campsite, there is a climbing park, a new mini golf course and a children's farm. The village is surrounded by high mountains that invite many exciting challenges and nature experiences. A guide can be obtained by booking. For those who prefer the lowlands, we can, for example, suggest a kayaking trip on Sykkylvsfjorden, or a refreshing dip in the sea or in the heated pool at Ikornnes Friluftsbad. Salmon fishing during the season June-August is possible in the Aureelva, just 5 minutes from the campsite. Fishing permits can be purchased at ElveGuiden. The campsite has its own floating pier right below the campsite. Many have discovered that Sykkylven is a village that is easy to fall in love with! You are always welcome to a pleasant stay at Sjøbakken Fjord Camping, whether it is to spend the night in our well-equipped cabins, or you come with a caravan, motorhome or tent. We are open from March 27 to October 15 in 2026! Hope someone will come for Easter, we are only 20 minutes away from Sunnmørsalpane Ski Arena.
