Motorhome holidays, outdoor activities and camping are recruiting like never before, and the desire to experience the world along the country road continues to increase. But it can often be difficult to decide on an itinerary and find inspiration for activities and sights along the way. Fortunately, there are many who have already done the job for us.
We have chosen to collect some of our favorite travel blogs, and in this post we would like to present Bobilbasecamp.no
Bobilbasecamp.no is an active blog with trip descriptions, travel videos and blog posts. Some of the highlights of the blog are the good trip descriptions that are beautifully categorized and described with key information and pictures. The man behind the blog Geir Svardal has also written the book “Camping - the good life along the country road” - a must have for anyone on a camping or motorhome holiday. Read the blog and more about the book at: www.bobilbasecamp.no.
What is your favorite destination in Norway?
Jotunheimen. We largely use the camper as a base camp for mountain trips, and Jotunheimen has an unparalleled collection of mountains in a Norwegian context. The most beautiful trip we have taken, however, is Romsdalseggen.
How do you plan your trip?
We basically keep everything open until we are in the long-term forecasts on Yr. The weather is our "compass", and can well determine whether we travel in Norway or abroad. Once we have decided on the country and direction, we lay out the broad lines for the trip. We have an assumption about which area we will spend the night in, but exactly when and where, and whether it will be free camping or a campsite/motorhome site, we get started. This is especially true when we travel in Norway with the Right of Access, and that is part of the freedom of a camper!
When are you traveling?
We travel all year round, except in July. Because then "everyone else" is traveling, and it is nice to be home. This year's long trip always takes place in August/September. The weather is often good then, nature is at its finest and the tourist pressure is on the decline, while everything is open.
