Campingtips with "Friheten og veien"

Motorhome holidays, outdoor activities and camping are recruiting like never before, and the desire to experience the world along the road continues to increase. But it can often be difficult to decide on an itinerary and find inspiration for activities and sights along the way. Fortunately, there are many who have already done the job for us.

Favorite destination in Norway?

We think all of Norway is one big favorite destination, and it's really impossible to choose one favorite. If we had to choose, we think Senja with all its possibilities and varied beautiful nature. The Steigen area is also one of our favorite destinations.

How do you plan the trip?

It is planned a little differently based on what kind of trip we are going on. If we are going on a long trip, we have a main goal and many intermediate goals. Then a lot of preparation has been done on Google maps, various websites and apps. Once the trip is underway, we go more into detail and plan further mostly from day to day.

When we plan shorter trips, e.g. a weekend trip, how we plan varies greatly. In the winter we would like to have snow and skiing conditions. In the summer we like to be able to swim, use the kayak and SUP board.

Sometimes we just want peace and quiet, other times a little more activity.

Sometimes we just drive towards a goal and see what happens, but mostly we have a specific destination we want to go to.

In the planning phase we use a lot of Google, apps, tips from various places and people. When we are going to find accommodation at the destination we preferably use Campio.

When do you travel?

Motorhome life is just as nice in summer as in winter, so we travel all year round.
