Privacy Policy

Introduction

We care about your privacy and we will therefore inform you about how we collect, use and store your personal information. Personal information is information and assessments that can be linked to an individual as described in more detail below in the declaration. The processing of personal data is necessary for us to be able to fulfill our obligations to you.

To ensure that your personal information is handled in a safe and secure manner, we have established the guidelines set out below. At your request, Campio shall inform you of what information Campio holds related to you, the purpose of the processing, who may receive information related to you and where this information comes from.

Personal information

Campio (www.campio.no) and the Campio mobile application is free to use. By default, we do not collect any personal information. Personal information is collected only if you choose to (1) create a user profile, or (2) make a reservation at any of our partner campsites. Please see details below:

Create a user profile (registration)

Creating a profile at Campio will involve the processing of your personal information. Upon registration, you must accept this privacy statement, which then means that you have given consent for Campio to process the personal data that follows from this privacy statement, cf. the Personal Data Act § 8. You can withdraw the consent at any time.

To create a profile, we require your email address, which is used to provide safe and secure authentication so that you will be the only one who can access the profile created for you. You can optionally add your full name, postal address, phone number and nationality to your profile. This information will be pre-filled if you make a reservation at any of our partner campsites.

Make a reservation / booking

If you choose to make a reservation (booking) through Campio, we require the following personal information to be sumbitted with the booking request:

• Full name
• Email address
• Phone number
• Nationality

The purpose of processing this personal information is to confirm your reservation and identify you as a guest on one of our partner campsites, as per GDPR § 6(1)(b). We will send a booking confirmation to your email address and/or phone number, depending on the features offered by the relevant campsite. We will share the information only with the campsite personnel of which the reservation was made for.

How to delete your Campio account

You may delete your account and associated personal information at any time. We provide two options:

1. Delete your account from within the app (self-service; follow instructions below)
2. Send an email to [email protected] with subject "Delete Account" from the email of your registered user, and we'll assist you in the process.

What will be deleted?

All your personal information, including your user ID, name, e-mail address, phone number, nationality, license plate, and saved favorites will be permanently deleted. If you have made any bookings, campsites may keep the information related to the bookings for accounting and book-keeping purposes. This information is owned by the relevant campsites, and not by Campio, but made available to the campsites by Campio through our Data Processor Agreement. If you wish to have your bookings removed, please contact the relevant campsite, or contact us at [email protected], and we'll assist you in the process.

Steps to delete your account

1. Log into your account
2. Go to My account in the app menu
3. Scroll down to the bottom and click "Delete your Campio account"
4. Accept the deletion. Keep in mind that this action can not be undone.
5. We're sorry to see you go! You are welcome back at any time.

For how long is your personal data stored?  

Campio deletes the personal data as soon as storage is no longer considered necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, and when it is also not necessary to store in accordance with law. The general right of access to Campio's processing of personal data is fulfilled through this privacy statement. Customers / users of Campio's services also have the following rights:

• Access to personal information and information about the processing
• Right to correct and delete incomplete or incorrect information
• Right to be forgotten
• Right to limit treatment
• The right to oppose treatment
• Right to data portability

Security

We are concerned that unauthorized persons do not gain access to your personal information. We therefore use several forms of security technology that provide good protection against unauthorized access and misuse of your personal information.

Cookies

Campio.no and our app use cookies. Cookies are a text string that is stored on your PC or mobile device when you visit campio.no or use our app. If you do not want to allow the use of cookies, you can ensure this by changing the settings in the browser or on your device. The cookies used are functionality-related cookies that remember the choices you make on our website in order to improve your experience, as well as performance-related cookies that allow us to understand how you use our website. This information helps us to improve the website and the application so that we can offer you the best possible experience.

Analytics

We collect and store log data about about several actions user make on our applications, such as search input and clicks. Such information is made anonymous at the same time as it is obtained and can not be linked to individual users. The information is used to compile statistics that we will use to improve and further develop our services.

Personalization

In order to make our service the best possible, we personalize parts of the service on campio.no and the Campio applications, and the communication to you. Examples can be personal offers, suggestions for trips and travels we think you will like based on previous bookings or other relevant marketing. We use third parties to deliver parts of the personalized communication.

Personal information to third parties

Campio does not sell personal information to third parties. We will only give third parties access to your personal information if it is necessary to be able to manage your customer relationship, for example to be able to deliver you personalized content with us or other websites. Access to your personal information for third parties may also be granted if you have consented to this.

Aggregated and anonymised personal information may be transmitted to third parties to ensure optimal operation of the service and to third parties for their own marketing and adaptation of services that are relevant to you. The personal information will be aggregated at Campio, before it, in anonymised form, is handed over to third parties. Personal information and information about orders may also be disclosed to the police or other public authorities if necessary to comply with legal or regulatory obligations or requests.

Communication

We offer all our users to receive communication with suggestions, tips and offers by e-mail, SMS and messages in the Campio application. You can easily change this under settings on your profile.

From time to time, we will communicate about functionality, changes or news in the service and product or other information that is assumed to be relevant to the individual user of our service. Pursuant to section 15, third paragraph, of the Marketing Act, we count an active user account with us and acceptance of this privacy statement as consent to this. The communication can take place to the specified telephone number, e-mail addresses, address or as a notification through the applications. 

Changes to the privacy policy

Campio reserves the right to change this privacy policy at any time. All registered users with us will be notified of changes with a request to approve these. Acceptance of this privacy statement, including any changes, is a prerequisite for further use of the services offered by Campio. 

Other

Campio by the general manager is responsible for the processing of personal data as described above.
